Help around and get to know your limits

Volunteering

Most of the opportunities through the European Solidarity Corps are cross-border volunteering activities.

These projects are an excellent opportunity to help where needed, learn new skills, spend time abroad, perhaps learn a language – and definitely return with unforgettable experiences and memories.

Thanks to the wide range of issues that the projects cover (such as environment, health, inclusion, digital technologies, culture, sports), you are sure to find something that matches your interests and background.

You have a choice between individual or team volunteering..

Individual volunteering

  • can take from 2 months until 12 months
  • it takes full-time (between 30 and 38 hours per week)
  • allows you to contribute your activities to the daily work of the organization, which actively supports and develops the local community
  • it is usually 'cross-border' - for example: in different country than the one you live in (although it can also take place in your home country – these projects are called ‘in-country’ projekty)
  • in some cases you can participate in smaller time interval (from 2 weeks to 2 months) – for example for participants with fewer opportunities or for participants with disabilities

Team volunteering

If you can't participate in the program for a long period of time, but still want to help the community, take a look at our team volunteering offer, which:

  • can take from 2 weeks to 2 months
  • it a job - full-time (between 30 and 38 hours per week)
  • you are volunteering with peaple at least from 2 different countries
  • the group is created by 10 to 40 volunteers and includes people from disadvantaged groups
  • usually takes place abroad, although it can also take place in the home country

 Sending and hosting organizations

If you go abroad for individual volunteering, there will be 2 organizations available:

  • sending/supporting organization – from your home country, will prepare you for your experience abroad.
  • hosting organization – will receive you as a volunteer and will assist you throughout your stay in the destination country.

If you are volunteering as a team, you do not need a support organization.
